Ahmed Ololade, or as he is popularly known ‘Asake’ recently shed some light on the inspiration behind his famous trrack ‘MMS’ which features one of Nigeria’s most celebrated artistes ever (Wizkid), and remains one of the most successful songs off the singers third studio album.
Asake has witnessed immense growth over the last few years, coming up through YBNL, after getting a verse from the label boss, Olamide. The singer went further to carve his name in stone on the Nigerian music stage, and is gradually doing the same globally.
The 2025 Grammy awards ceremony, had the singer in attendance, and he expressed his joy to be nominated for one of the most prestigious music awards worldwide, in a brief interview with a reporter at the event venue.

Asake was one of the few Nigerian singers to grace the ceremony with their presence, and this goes on to explain the impact afrobeats is having on the global stage and the continuous exposure of the western world to music from creatives in Africa.
MMS, which is the second song off the fifteen-tracks album, secured Asake the nominations for Best collaboration & Best music video, but the singer couldn’t manage to get farther than the nominees list though it is no doubt that things look bright for Asake at the Grammys in the near future.
